Description du build

5 Piece Armor of the Seducer*

5 Piece Armor Necropotence*

Between these 2 sets you will have insane levels of mana and mana recovery*

Build Ideology:

In it's purest form, this is a spam based magic crit build for all pve activities. Your mana and mana recovery is extremely high and so is your damage output. With Legendary gear equipped you will be crit fraging for over 20,000 damage! (And this can and will proc very often). With divines attached to all of your Seducer gear you will be pushing in the 60-70 chance to crit range as well. So... As long as you make sure Surge is ALWAYS active, this build has very high sustain. All in all it's a fun though tricky build to get used to but if you do, you will not regret it.

Food / Drink: Anything that increases Health (most important), Mana, and/or Mana recovery.

Skill Rotation:

Overload Bar: Empowered Ward, Liquid Lightning, Mage's Fury, Boundless Storm, Volatile Familiar

Unlike most builds, this will require a decent amount of micro management, so take that into account.

Your dual wield bar is your buff bar (for obvious reasons) and what you will lead each and every fight with. Power surge into Empowered Ward is your initial buff setup (unless you need to be a bit tankier then drop into overload for boundless storm and switch right back). From there I will usually use L.L. and drop a Dadric curse on the biggest threat and follow it up a split second later with the volatile familiar damage ability. Now I turn my attention (this is where the micro comes into play). Since my pet and L.L. are dealing with one threat I will turn my attention to another. I will then drop my second aoe (wall of elements) on my targeted group and spam (animate cancel) a medium attack / Force pulse, anytime crystal frag proc's I throw that immediately (highest source of damage). More times than not I will clear my group first. I will then switch back to the buff bar (if my pet is hurting) and reapply Empowered ward (that effects him too) and re-curse that target. From there it is a rinse and repeat process.

Boss fights:

This is were the versatility of this build really shines! In raw single target dps nothing is going to touch overload, you will be criting for well over 30,000 damage over half the time. But... There is a powerful alternative for those boss fights that include more than just one target throughout the fight. You would start the fight as normal but directly after you curse the boss you switch and immediately drop the Storm pet directly on top of him (curse allows your pets to do 50-60% more damage and the Storm ult to do 40% which is no joke). Then you spam as usual on the main bar (destruction staff) but... make sure to keep rotating back to bar 2 to reapply both Empowered ward and curse (every 6 seconds) to maximize damage and keep your pets alive. I guarantee the damage you will be putting out will surprise you.

Build Alternatives:

Another nice feature of this build is that it allows quick customization for any given situation. I will commonly switch out unstable familiar for twilight (heal) if i'm in need of a burst heal. You can also rotate out curse for mage's wrath which then opens up a slot on the overload bar for whatever you require. Another alternative though I don't encourage it is to use the clannfear instead of the familiar. This does give you a much (MUCH) tankier pet and also has a burst heal built in but... imo I feel you loose to much damage and most importantly crowd control you get with the familiar. But to each there own.

The only hard rotation I will make with this build is if I am in a situation were I am still having a hard time managing my mana. I will take out wall of elements and put in Elemental Drain in it's place. Between Liquid lightning and unstable familiar you do already have 2 aoe abilities and with elemental drain active you will have to make an effort to run out of mana at any given point.

Closing Thoughts (tips and tricks):

I really hope everyone enjoys this simple but effective build. With regard to tips and tricks of the build the main thing would be to remember this is a Crit surge build at heart and if you've never played a Crit surge build before it can take some getting used to. Just remember that you heal by doing damage so when your health starts to drop, don't panic haha, and just keep doing damage and you'll heal right back up. Just ALWAYS MAKE SURE SURGE IS ACTIVE***). Also with regard to that, remember, aoe's can crit, pets can crit, and spells and auto attacks all can crit (and will ALOT) you do not need a separate heal as long as surge remains active (33 second ability). Enjoy everyone! #sorcerermasterrace
