Build description

This build is mainly a personal build, and while it's a bit of a mashup of multiple builds I've seen and looked up, it's mainly based on the Bulletproof Templar made by Dread_Knight_N7 on the official ESO forums. While it shares some similarities with that setup, the skills I've chosen have mainly been picked to serve a PvE, questing setup, rather than AvA, trials or group content. Similar to what Dread_Knight says about his own build, the "Light of the Guild" setup is not the tankiest tank out there, but your DPS isn't quite as strong as it could be with, say, a dual-wield setup or such. It's very much a generalist build.

It's also named for Sees-All-Colors' title at the end of the Fighters Guild questline, and inspired by the fact that my character uses Akaviri-style armor. But, of course, you can use this with any equipment style!

Keep in mind that since I'm not Champion 561 yet, this may also change sometimes. This is both serving as a build example and as a personal notepad for myself, heheheh!

---------

Race: Khajiit
Khajiit was picked solely for roleplaying purposes, but their increased Health/Stamina Recovery passive and increased Weapon Crit passive meshed nicely with the build's intentions. Dread_Knight recommended Imperial, for the extra Max Health/Stamina and the Red Diamond perk. Redguard could also work due to the focus on Max Stamina and Stamina Recovery.

---------

Class: Templar (obviously)
Templar was picked for roleplaying as well, but Aedric Spear is the primary skill-giver here. Dawn's Wrath and Restoring Light also have helpful passives, but since this class is mainly focused on dealing damage, the magical abilities and healing skills don't really apply. You could probably swap some of the skills out for other ones in either the Weapon lines or the other Class lines, but I can't say for sure how effective it would be.

---------

Equipment:
Your primary setup is a full suit of Medium Armor, a Sword and Shield, and a Bow.

Medium Armor is chosen for the sake of extra Weapon Damage, Critical rate, and the passive bonuses to Stamina Recovery. I haven't tested Light or Heavy Armor out with the setup, but it's flexible enough that you could probably run it with Heavy at least.

For traits, focus on Robust or Healthy for your jewelry, and aim for Divines for your armor. Sharpened is good for weapons.

Enchantments can be done as you please, but I personally put:
- Health enchantments on my Jack, Belt and Boots.
- Stamina enchantments on my Guards, Bracers and Arm Cops.
- Sword and Bow can also be enchanted with whatever, but usually I added Fire for extra damage. You can add Prismatic glyphs for extra roleplaying purposes, if you wanted.

I also use the Senche set, specifically the Shield, Helmet, two Rings and a Necklace, as well as the Twice-Born Star crafted set. The build is flexible, though, and can work with any kind of stamina- or health-helping set.

I primarily keep Essences of Health on hand for restoring HP, but depending on how easy or difficult a boss is, I also buy Alliance Battle Draughts to restore Stamina and give myself Major Brutality (for extra Weapon Damage).

As for Food, I usually used Max Health- and Stamina-increasing food, but if you aren't versed in Provisioning or don't have the money to buy food from Guild Stores, then any old Max Health-increasing food will do, even just Crusty Bread.

---------

Strategy:
This is my personal strategy for dealing with encounters and foes out in the field. Some differences may apply depending on your race and general preferences, as well as the situation.

- Get into a good Sneaking position, and wait until you're Hidden.
- Equip your Bow and prepare a sneak attack. Aim for the enemy you think will be easiest to pick off first, like healers or mages. Alternatively, you can skip straight to Arrow Barrage if it's a large group.
- Let off a sneak attack. Ideally the foe will be briefly stunned.
- If there is a second enemy that aggros, hit them with a Binding Javelin to knock them back. If it's a large group, use Silver Shards on an enemy in order to slow one down and get some extra group damage in.
- Snipe the foe you sneak-attacked with Focused Aim, to deal damage and inflict Minor Fracture.

- Next, swap to your Sword and Shield.
- Use Invasion as a gap-closer, ideally on the enemy you sneak-attacked and sniped. This deals damage and knocks them down for a time; depending on how far you are from them, they may be down longer.
- Afterward, switch between Biting Jabs, Deep Slash, Reverberating Bash, and Blazing Shield.
- Biting Jabs is your primary source of damage, hitting multiple enemies four times for solid damage and briefly giving you Major Savagery, increasing your chances of Critical Hits.
- Deep Slash deals damage, but also affects the enemies it hits with Minor Maim, reducing the damage they deal to you, which is important for dealing with groups of foes.
- Reverberating Bash is primarily another way to stun an enemy, either to give yourself some breathing time or to let you get some distance in order to pelt them with more Bow shots.
- Blazing Shield is another general battle skill, since it shields you from damage, might allow you to recover health while its shield is up, and also damages enemies based on how much damage it absorbs.

As for the Ultimates,

- Flawless Dawnbreaker is picked mainly for the passive 5% increase in Weapon Damage.
- Toxic Barrage is entirely about dealing heavy damage to an enemy, and the extra Poison damage over time helps greatly.
