Deltia's tool is easier to use than this one.

Heavy Armor –TESTED
knights errant I used a lot, it’s absolutely wonderful in PVE dungeons. The heal back is great as I’m using ransack a lot. Nice damage, good stats. Problem is PVP, now it’s not bad to have but really this build should be in a group in cyrodiil. The healing vs the average damage from another player is really minimal. While it’s not a BAD set, there are better sets overall for PVP IMHO.

Fassalas Guile has been really potent. The debuff, with reverb bash AND CP into befoul really is powerful against stam users. They can’t heal back up and it becomes a “who can absorb damage” contest, which you’ll win. +4% healing, 2 + health bonus’s and that 5 piece “When you take direct damage or damage from a ground-targeted attack, you reduce the attacker's healing received by 50% for 2 seconds.” *My choice*

Warriors Fury is also dam nice, better for a 2H build but still its 5 piece is predicated on you taking damage, which you’re built for. It’s going to increase your weapon damage, along with a plus health and stam. It’s a great OFFENSIVE set. I noticed the increased damage with jabs, the rotation with this build in PVP is gap close, ransack (proc tremor hopefully) jabs, jabs, restun with reverb bash. I did more damage but it was counter intuitive to the objective of tanking. It worked though, I can see flipping this to a two handed stamplar build with Fury and it would be great with say a spriggans or hulking 2nd 5 piece.

So set 1 conclusion after testing:

Knights Errant: Great all around set for a sword and board Templar. Works in all situations. Recommend for PVE. Hardest set to get as it has to be farmed in Blackheart haven dungeon. The RNG is brutal, if youre lucky (Like me) you have a guild that will run this with you and give you their Knights Errant drops. A pain for sure, but a “nice have” in any stam tanks inventory.

Fassalas guile: Best PVP tank set. More health, more healing, healing debuff on attacker. This is great on stam melee toons, they can’t heal back up and they are normally built to burst. If you can survive the burst, they’ll panic and you’ll get kills (or your dps group member will). LOTS and LOTS of this gear set out there, you should have no problem picking up pieces.

Warriors Fury: Solid all around DPS set that is flexible. So if you want to flip to 2H as a main you can with this set. This will work with S/B builds as well as the increasing weap damage, coupled with the heavy armor stacking weap damage is going to make your jabs potent. Easier to obtain as it’s a pvp award.
There are other good heavy sets out there but I had to pick a few and focus.

Armor - Tremor Scale - Head, Shoulders. (heavy)
(1 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina
(2 items) When you taunt an enemy, you have a 50% chance to cause a duneripper to burst from the ground beneath them, dealing 6500 Physical Damage to all enemies within 4 meters and reducing their Movement Speed by 70% for 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds.

No this wont crit but its still a great monster set, might be the best for a tank. 3 reasons: 1. ransack procs this which is your main taunt (its nice dps too). 2. Its a 50% chance, high on a monster set. 3. Phys damage and a 70% movement reduction for 8 seconds (nice in cyrodiil).

So that gives you 3 Jewels, shield and 1H, 2H so a 5piece left. You can use one of the other heavy sets I posted above but you’ll run into sustain issues. There are a lot of options and I really tried to weigh the best value, stats, availability etc. In PVE youre going to use Knights Errant, or Fury which are both DPS sets along with tremor scale. PVP Fassalas so no matter how you slice it, none of those really help SUSTAIN a stam tank build. Now you can craft if you want, but you would have had to get the jewels for the three heavy sets I listed (the only one that’s a pain is knights errant) I did, I got my weapons too.

This left me with 5 body pieces. I love crafted sets because there is no RNG. Sadly there really isn’t an equivalent set to Seducers for Magicka users. If there was Id be crafting it. Now Eternal hunt is close but its 9 traits (not everyone has this) and its 5th bonus is a roll dodge proc not a cost reduction. So I eliminated crafted sets. You could do hundings here, you could do Alchemist or night mothers gaze… I mean they fit and would make you dam powerful but we are CHOOSING to be tanking not a hybrid.

I settled on two sets: Black Rose and Hulking Dragugr

Now I had black rose, im comfortable with it. The 5 piece gives you weap damage + a buff to constitution passive on heavy armor for resources back. Its all impen, and its healthy enchants. Overall This was the best for me as a tank in all situations. With all the stam I am getting back through various means I could literally spam jabs if I wanted too (in some pve dungeons that’s all you need). Ya, the 4th piece bonus is now magicka but that’s okay you’ll have 2 magi skills on your bar and you wont be using magi buff food.

Hulking Dragugr is unbelievable the amount of stam you get. So all your stam based skills get a buff, your pool is immense (and you’ll need it). It only drops in medium though so your regen and damage will go up, but you’ll loose TANKINESS. There are other sets that will work, believe me but I had Hulking and I wanted to use it. I didn’t loose performance but it required me to tank differently. I had to recast vigor every 4 seconds at expiration. Hulking gave me the resources to do it, and I was able to hold aggro in PVE. In PVP I had mixed results. It didn’t help me survive burst damage, I took some serious damage with this set but I could literally spam skills. I liked it, but black rose was better.

TRY OTHER SETS. My testing was limited due to personal time constraints. I put a fair amount into the 6 I did test and these 6 (2 5 piece, 1 monster) should be all you need to complete nearly all the content in ESO. Anything else might improve you 1-3% tops but that would be on sustaining and or dps. For tanking youre good to go here, don’t over think it.
